SECTION 1:  Applications for Membership shall be submitted in writing, and each Applicant shall express a willingness to abide by the Constitution and the By-Laws, and such Rules as shall from time to time be promulgated by the Club.  Applications shall be updated annually for accuracy of information.

SECTION 2:  There shall be two types of Membership.
Full Member:  Any Person who is a duly-licensed Amateur Radio Operator, by the Federal Communications Commission of the United States, or by the appropriate Licensing Agency of a foreign country.
Associate Member: Any Person who is interested in Amateur Radio, but is not a duly-licensed Amateur Radio Operator as described above.


SECTION 1:  It shall be the duty of the Secretary to keep the Constitution and the By-Laws of THE CONTOOCOOK VALLEY RADIO CLUB, and have the same with him/her at every Regular and Special Meeting.  He/She shall note all amendments, changes, and additions, and shall permit the same to be consulted by Members upon request.

SECTION 2: The Vice-President shall be the Program Director for the Club.  It shall be his/her duty to procure or solicit programs and activities for Club Meetings, in order to promote the interests and welfare of Amateur Radio.  The Vice-President may request the assistance of other Club Members to carry out this duty.  He/She shall inform the Membership of upcoming programs and activities.


SECTION 1: Regular Meetings shall be held monthly at such time and place as the President shall order.

SECTION 2: Special Meetings may be called by the President upon agreement with the other Club Officers.  Club Members shall be timely informed of any such Special Meeting, and the business to be transacted there at, by postal mail or electronic mail.  Only such business as is designated in this mailed notice shall be transacted at this Special Meeting.

SECTION 3:  Between Regular Meetings, there may be a Meeting of the Steering Committee.  At such a Meeting, Club business will be discussed, organized, and acted upon as to cause the business portion of the Regular Meeting to be held to a minimum.  It shall be the responsibility of the Steering Committee to act prudently and in the best overall interest of the Club.  A minimum of four Club Members, which shall include at least two Club Officers, must be present at any Meeting at which a vote is taken to obligate the Club to a financial expenditure.  With the exceptions of emergency repairs to Club’s operating equipment, and regular scheduled expenses, andy expenditure over $200.00 must be brought to a vote at a Regular Meeting of the Club.


SECTION 1:  Dues shall be assessed annually upon Club Members in accordance with the provisions of ARTICLE V of the Constitution, for the purpose of providing funds for current expenses.  Payment of such dues shall be expected by January 1 of every year.  The yearly assessment shall be $20.00 for each Regular Member, $10.00 for each Member of age 65 years or older, and $10.00 for each Associate Member.  Family Membership shall allow each additional member of a  family to obtain Club Membership at one-half of the appropriate rate.  A student (age 18 years or younger) shall be afforded free Membership.  A person obtaining his/her first Amateur Radio License shall be afforded one year of free Membership, beginning at the date of the original License.

SECTION 2:  Club Members may, at a Regular Club Meeting, confer special or honorary Membership status to an individual who has demonstrated a significant benefit or contribution to the Amateur Ratio community.  The four elected Club Officers may unanimously exempt a Member from payment of annual dues, in case of financial hardship.

SECTION 3:  Non-payment of Club dues for a period of one year shall result in non-Member status of an individual.


SECTION 1:  In the event of dissolution, hardware assets of the Club shall be donated to one or more organizations to serve the Amateur Radio community, and/or support the Amateur Radio Emergency Service.  The assets of the Club Treasury shall be donated to one or more active New Hampshire Amateur Radio Clubs or organizations.
